The full-size BO 209 MONSUN is a fast two-seater sports and cruising aircraft which is also approved for aerobatics. The model has inherited the machineīs elegant lines extremely well. A number of modifications were necessary in order to ensure that the model has good flying characteristics and performance, but they have no adverse effect on the models overall appearance. As with the full-size aircraft the model is capable of simple aerobatics such as loops, rolls, inverted flight, Cuban eights etc. The model is of all-wood construction, and assembly consists simply of joining the wing panels, gluing the tailplane and fin in place, and installing the motor and RC system. The rudder and elevator are actuated by the proven Direct-Steel-System (DSS). The aileron servo is fitted immediately adjacent to the control surfaces, ensuring a slop-free linkage. The nosewheel is coupled with the rudder to provide good steering on the ground, e.g. during take-off. The wheel spats can be removed for flying over rough surfaces.
